Water Well Donation in Kegalle, Sri Lanka

Warm Heart Helpers is pleased to announce the completion of a new water well in a rural Sri Lankan village in city of Kegalle of the Sabaragamuwa Province, addressing the urgent need for a clean water supply. There were no existing clean water supply for school kids at the Kegalle/Ganegama Kanishita Vidyalaya (College). This well was donated to the school development board and cost around 79,250 LKR. 

This new well provides a reliable source of clean water for drinking, cooking, and hygiene, significantly improving the community’s health and well-being as there were no way to get clean water before. The soil was unstable, due to the fact that it is clay soil, and required 7 concrete rings in order to keep the well from collapsing in on itself. By creating this well there is now a reliable source of clean water!

Warm Heart Helpers collaborated with local village and school leaders to ensure the well was effectively constructed and strategically located.
